- Take 3 deep breaths. It may sound simple but it works because it activates your parasympathetic brain.
- Jump up and down or take a brisk walk. Do it in your living room, in the toilet if you’re at work or go outside if you can. It helps you get out of that stress state and return to a calm state.
- Shift your focus and have something to look forward to. Your brain loves to help you, so it’s either going to help you stay where you’re at (and you’re not loving it, right) or go where you want to go (keep reading for that part).
- Get real about what your workday looks like.
