Are you feeling like there is no balance in your life?

Are you busy, exhausted, and feel like you are constantly putting out fires with little control over your day?

You are not alone.

When you are constantly living in that busy state, you may feel like there is no time to take a deep breath.

Here are some tips and ideas on how to get into a calm state now so you can exit the overwhelm and start taking steps toward creating a more balanced lifestyle.

  1. Take 3 deep breaths.  It may sound simple but it works because it activates your parasympathetic brain.
  2. Jump up and down or take a brisk walk.  Do it in your living room, in the toilet if you’re at work or go outside if you can.  It helps you get out of that stress state and return to a calm state.
  3. Shift your focus and have something to look forward to.  Your brain loves to help you, so it’s either going to help you stay where you’re at (and you’re not loving it, right) or go where you want to go (keep reading for that part).
  4. Get real about what your workday looks like.

Let’s explore that last one first.

What does your workday look like?

Let’s start with a simple question.
What’s your favorite warm drink to start off your workday?  Coffee or tea?  And in what form?  A drip coffee, a double expresso, a green tea or energy-boosting black tea?
It’s a simple question. But there’s more to it…
Do you need it (and the caffeine in it) to:
  • Get going, to create energy, and to get into the mood?
  • Compensate for working too much or too late yesterday?
  • Keep going all day, doing a million things on an endless to-do list?

And honestly never feel fulfilled at the end of the day, just exhausted.  Or wired and tired at the same time.

Let’s be real.

Are you happy with what you do to make a living and the schedule you work in?

Or could it all be improved massively? (I’m hearing a big yessss)
What would be a much better fit for you? Ever thought about that?
