How To Be More Productive Without Working More? That’s the big question at hand today.
Are you an HSP or an introvert struggling to balance productivity with self-care? Do you find it challenging to manage your workload and stay on top of your tasks without feeling overwhelmed or exhausted? If so, this blog post is for you!
I’ve spent many years, well, most of my life, trying to be like everyone else. Until I decided it was time for another way, a way that works for me, my lifestyle, my desires and lifestyle non-negotiables. And I designed my business around the pillar pieces I’ll talk about today. Because you can be more productive without sacrificing your well-being.
You need to know this before we dive in.
You’re looking to be more productive, and you’ve probably tried the traditional ways, only to find that they don’t really work for you. And you wonder why. You may think thoughts like “What is wrong with me?” or “Why can’t I be more like everyone else who does get things done?”. You may also think that you need to work longer hours or push yourself harder, because that’s what you’ve been told or see successful people do. And you may try to follow their example, motivated by the group or encouraged by a mentor, only to burn out or crash rather quickly. (and need a week to recover) So deep down you know very well that doesn’t work for you, not in the long run anyway. Which raises the question: what does work?
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I believe there’s another and much more sustainable way. It’s about becoming a Balanced Freedompreneur. I believe success is not about working harder, but about working smarter. Especially for us sensitives, introverts, hsps, success is often more about having more ‘quality life’ time and feeling our best more hours in a day than any money goal. (that being said, money is important, but it’s often not a driving factor)
So, let’s dive in and discover how to boost your productivity without burning out!
Your Balanced Freedom-Based Business is totally doable!
You believe you have to do it all alone.
It’s a wonderful experience to start your business, nurture it and see it grow. However, many people believe that they have to do it all themselves.
Success is not achieved alone. The idea of self-made individuals is often romanticized, but the reality is that no one can achieve success entirely on their own. Remember this: “You don’t have to do it all on your own!” Put it on a post-it on your screen.
To accomplish great things, you need a support system.
What does a support system look like?
I developed the concept of a support system based on what I learned while getting my health back. I believe your support system should consist of 4 pieces that work together to create more freedom in your business.
The first piece: Loving People.
We all need more love in our lives. Especially as sensitive souls, many of us never really got the full love we needed, simply because our parents and caretakers didn’t get us. They did the best they could, but didn’t understand that we weren’t shy, just sensitive and easily overloaded. And as an adult and entrepreneur, we’re often still looking for love, especially from people who get us.
So this piece of the support system could be made up of family, kids, friends, or even neighbors or yoga buddies. They can offer advice, support, and inspiration when you need it the most. But as you just learned, they’re going to give it their best, but it often leaves you ‘hungry’. So it’s important to understand that they can fulfill you to a certain point and that you need more.
How do you get that extra support? From fellow entrepreneurs who are on the same path as you and a mentor that shares your vision and values. Because they truly understand what you are dealing with. They are on the path that you are on, they get the struggles you face and the loneliness that comes with being a solopreneur or small business owner. And they get the whole ‘sensitive thing’. They will not only bring the love but also tough love, empowerment, practical support and cheerleading.
You could also see this as your Tribe, your Community, or simply call it your People, like I do. This is why I created my membership, the Freedom Business Creators Academy. Because you want to spend time with your loved ones and have time on your own, but you also need connection time with your tribe. But on your own terms: you know that the time and energy you’re going to invest is going to be worth it. I believe that’s what makes all the difference.
The second piece: Helper Tools.
In addition to a support system made of loving people, having the right tools and resources is also crucial to be more productive and reach your goals with more ease.
Even though this is a short paragraph, it’s actually a big pillar of what I teach. I love them because it comes down to this. You do the work once, and then the tools do the work for you from that point on. I’m super passionate about helper tools, because they really are a crucial piece in a freedom-based business, especially for sensitives.
It starts with this basic element: if you do a task more than once a day or week, then there must be a way to add a helper tool to do it for you. A simple example is the dishes. You know you’re going to have to eat, so dishes are going to get dirty. This is not a one-time thing, but will go on for the rest of your life. So someone needs to clean them if you want to use them again. It could be you, someone else in your family or a helper tool, in this case: the dishwasher. In your business, the same thing applies. And it’s been my passion to find those helper tools, so they can do the work for me, so I can use my time and energy for other things.
This can range from marketing, payment and shopping cart software or time-saving software like an automated online booking system. By using these tools, you can streamline your processes, save time, and increase your productivity. And not to forget, set up the foundations for passive income.
The third piece: Done For You Services.
If you’re looking to increase your productivity without working more, outsourcing tasks can be a powerful tool. Having a virtual assistant as part of your support team or using “done for you” services are great options to consider. These options can help you save time and effort while ensuring that your work is of high quality.
Hiring a done-for-you service provider, freelancer or virtual assistant allows you to outsource tasks such as website design, social media management, general admin, bookkeeping, and content creation to experts in those fields. By doing this, you can ensure that these tasks are done efficiently and professionally, without having to spend time learning new skills or doing the work yourself. This can be especially beneficial if you have limited time or energy (especially as a sensitive person, introvert, empath or after a health challenge like burnout etc) or if you are simply not good at the task yourself.
With “done for you” services, you can focus on the core aspects of your business while leaving the rest to the experts who take some of the workload off your plate.
The forth piece: Done For You Tools
In addition to using helper tools and outsourcing tasks to experts, another effective way to be more productive without working more is to use done-for-you templates and resources.
For example, if you are new or not very skilled at the admin side of your business, you can use pre-made templates that are professionally designed to save time and effort. Similarly, if you need to create marketing materials, you can use pre-made graphics or designs to speed up the process.
That way you can uplevel the quality of your work, so it is of high quality and looks professional, without having to spend time creating everything from scratch. On top of that, you will also save time and can focus on the aspects of your business that require your expertise.
So, consider adding done-for-you templates and resources to your productivity toolkit to be more efficient and effective in your work. It’s another passion of mine to create these templates and tools for coaches, healers and service providers. All part of adding more freedom to your business.
Exit the overwhelm and Love your Business Again
At times, it can be overwhelming to navigate the world of entrepreneurship and figure out where to start and how to get the work done without exhausting yourself. That’s why I create practical courses and workshops to help you along the way. They provide you with valuable insights, strategies, and tips to help you achieve your goals.
To wrap this up, remember, you don’t have to do it all yourself, and in fact, trying to do so can hinder your progress. By building a support system, utilizing the right tools and resources, and seeking help when needed, you can achieve success in a more efficient and effective way. And I’m here to support you on all 4 pieces. 💖
